For most of my life, I've believed in the power of words.
Words can heal.
Words can challenge.
Words can inspire.
Words can change the trajectory of a person's life.
As a pastor, preacher, teacher, and leader, I've spent more than a decade helping people navigate faith, leadership, transition, and purpose. I've preached in churches, taught in classrooms, coached leaders, planted a church, and walked alongside people through some of life's most meaningful and difficult seasons.
But some of the most important lessons I've learned haven't come from a pulpit, a classroom, or a leadership role. They've come through my own experiences of growth, disappointment, resilience, healing, and learning to trust God in seasons I never would have chosen.
In recent years, that journey has included navigating profound personal transitions and a battle with breast cancer. Those experiences challenged me in ways I never anticipated, but they also deepened my faith, strengthened my voice, and reminded me that God is present not only in our victories, but also in our valleys. They reinforced a truth I return to again and again: God is still at work, even when the path ahead feels uncertain.
The Heart Behind the Message
My forthcoming book, Can I Get an Amen?, will be published by InterVarsity Press in 2027 and explores what it means to find your voice, strengthen your message, and communicate with authenticity and confidence.
